Why is Buddhism still relevant today? In this seminar series, we seek to introduce the theories and practices of Humanistic Buddhism, and discover how it shapes the everyday life of devotees. Humanistic Buddhism, a value-centric modern philosophy developed from traditional Chinese Buddhism, is the integration of our spiritual practice into all aspects of our lives. This seminar series is positioned to further the understanding of Humanistic Buddhism within the context of a multi-religious Singapore. Beginning with a historical spread of Humanistic Buddhism into Singapore, we hope the values and cultural wisdoms of Chinese Buddhism can permeate and receive wide appeal in society, while engaging in meaningful dialogues within the Buddhism community and across other living traditions in Singapore.
